Tue 11 2008 Stock jumps

* Drug maker Suven Life Sciences Ltd rose as much as 10 percent to 38.60 rupees on news of the firm signing second deal with U.S.-based Eli Lilly provide pre-clinical research to treat central nervous systems disorders.

* Tata Steel Ltd down 3.5 percent at 790.50 rupees after the company reported lower-than-expected consolidated net profit of 14.16 billion rupees for the quarter to December 31, 2007, two dealers said. Last year's net profit was 10.55 billion rupees, excluding Corus group's numbers.

* Software systems management firm Allied Digital Services Ltd rose 6.3 percent to 760 rupees after its board on Tuesday approved raising up to $100 million through equity or convertible bonds and taking atleast 51 percent stake in Digicomp Complete Solutions Pvt Ltd.

* Speciality Papers Ltd rose to 57.10 rupees, up by its daily maximum limit of 5 percent, just ahead of the news that its board will consider a bonus share issue on March

* Engineering and construction firm Larsen & Toubro Ltd gains after a block deal was struck for 44,277 shares, or 0.01 percent, at 3,056 rupees on the BSE. The shares are trading 5.4 percent higher at 3,074.05 rupees.

* Future Capital Holdings Ltd trading 6.6 percent higher at 569 rupees after the financial services firm said it would acquire a 50.1 percent stake in money changer firm Centrum Direct Ltd, a unit of Centrum Capital Ltd , for 750 million rupees.

The company will also invest 250 million rupees for a 50.1 percent stake in a new wealth management joint venture, Centrum Wealth Managers Ltd.
