* Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JNSP.BO) rose as much as 5.80 percent to 608.9 rupees after a report in the Business Standard newspaper that Jindal Power, a unit of the company, is planning a 40 billion rupees initial public offering to raise funds for its 2,400 megawatt superthermal power project in Chattisgarh, two dealers said.
Shares were up 4.9 percent at 603.7 rupees.
* Lakshmi Vilas Bank (LVLS.BO) rose as much as 12.29 percent to 121.55 rupees after it said on Tuesday it will issue 1 equity share for each one held in the bank on rights basis at 54 rupees per share. The size of the issue would be 2.65 billion rupees.
Shares were up 8.31 percent at 117.25 rupees.
* Gemini Communications Ltd (GEMC.BO) rose as much as 8.41 percent to 18.7 rupees in early trade after the firm said its board would meet on Sept 21 to consider listing its shares on Germany's Deutsche Borse.
Shares pared gains and traded at 17.65 rupees, still up 2.32 percent.
