* Natco Pharma Ltd (NATP.BO) plunged as much as 19 percent to 107.1 rupees after the Economic Times reported India's drug regulator planned to start criminal proceedings against the company for selling 'sub-standard' breast cancer drug Albupax, dealers said.
The company, however, in a letter to the exchange denied any legal action was initiated against it and said it had recalled the drug from the market on the regulator's directive.
Shares pared losses to be at 121.25 rupees, still down 8.63 percent.
* Steel Authority of India (SAIL.BO) rose as much as 4.35 percent to 195.3 rupees on renewed market talk the government is considering a stake sale in the state-run firm, dealers said.
Shares were up 4.11 percent at 194.85 rupees.
* Ess Dee Aluminium (ESDA.BO) extended gains to rise as much as 5.77 percent to 388.4 rupees after it said on Tuesday its board approved raising upto 5 billion rupees.
Shares were up 4.79 percent at 384.8 rupees.
* NIIT Technologies Ltd (NITT.BO) jumped as much as 9.2 percent to 138.55 rupees after the company's July-September net more than doubled to 260.6 million rupees compared to the same period a year earlier.
Shares were up 5.59 percent at 134 rupees.
* State-run power producer NTPC (NTPC.BO) rose as much as 4.25 percent to 223 rupees after the federal government on Monday approved a 5 percent stake sale in the company [ID:nDEL348414]
