* Patel Engineering Ltd (PENG.BO: Quote) extended gains after the civil
engineering firm received an order worth 1.19 billion rupees for
construction work in Maharashtra. The shares are trading at 791 rupees, up
3.3 percent.

* Plastic products maker Sintex Industries Ltd (SNTX.BO: Quote) rose as
much as 2 percent percent after a company official told Reuters that its
U.S. unit had received a 3-year order worth $5 million per year. Shares in
the firm have eased since, but still up 0.7 percent at 461.90 rupees.

* Gujarat NRE Coke Ltd (GJNC.BO: Quote) extended gains after the
metallurgical coke maker said it would invest 1.75 billion rupees to raise
its wind power capacity by 30 megawatts to 57.5 megawatts. The shares are
trading 8.8 percent higher at 126.80 rupees.

* IFCI Ltd (IFCI.BO: Quote) was up 5.6 percent at 99.80 rupees after the
lender said it is in talks with multilateral institutions to offer a stake
in it. The Economic Times newspaper reported the Indian firm would bring
in the International Finance Corp as an investor for a stake up to 20
percent.

* Reliance Energy Ltd (RLEN.BO: Quote) rose to a high of 1,860 rupees
after the power utility firm said over the weekend it would raise 80
billion rupees by selling shares to its founders and other institutional
shareholders at 1,812 rupees each. The stock was up 6.04 percent at 1,843
rupees.

* Emkay Share & Stock Brokers Ltd (EMKS.BO: Quote) rose by its maximum
daily limit of 5 percent to 258.70 rupees after its board decided to raise
2.5 billion rupees through a qualified institutional placement.
