* Tata Motors Ltd, India's leading vehicle maker rose 3.3 percent to 714.65 rupees after union leaders at Ford Motor Co's Land Rover and Jaguar brands agreed to support its bid for the premium brands.
* Debutants: Barak Valley Cements Ltd closed at 56.06 rupees, up a third from its initial public offer price of 42 rupees, but Rathi Bars Ltd fell to 31.90 rupees, 8.9 percent below its IPO price of 35 rupees.
* Siemens Ltd ended 2.2 percent higher at 1,974.75 rupees after the power equipment maker's September quarter net profit more than doubled and it set a one-for-one bonus share issue.
* Jagson Airlines Ltd rose 9.5 percent to 23 rupees after the founders made an open offer for 20 percent of the company at 20.11 rupees a share in a newspaper advertisement.

* Debutant stainless-steel-kitchenware maker Varun Industries Ltd closed at 112.65 rupees, well above its initial public offer price of 60 rupees.
* Cinema chain operator PVR Ltd rose 1.7 percent to 198.85 after its chairman said the company planned to invest up to 4 billion rupees to add 250 screens by 2010.

* Shares in financial services firm Religare Enterprises closed at 521.70 rupees on their stock market debut, nearly tripling from the issue price of 185 rupees a share.
* Deccan Aviation Ltd ended down 6.1 percent at 179.85 rupees, after it had hit a record high of 212 rupees in early deals. The stock rose 23 percent on Tuesday on market talk unlisted stablemate Kingfisher Airlines may be merged with it. An official of UB group, which controls both companies, told a TV channel on Wednesday that there was no active plan to merge the two.

* Shares in drug maker Strides Arcolab Ltd rose 9.6 percent to 290.90 rupees after it said it had formed a strategic partnership for its Latin American operations with South Africa's Aspen.* Dena Bank touched a life high of 94.50 rupees before ending down 1.8 percent at 86.40 rupees, after it denied a Financial Express report that it may be absorbed by the State Bank of India.
* Metal stocks Sterlite Industries (India) fell 5.2 percent and Hindustan Zinc Ltd dropped 2.2 percent, after copper and zinc futures fell by their daily limits in Shanghai.

* DLF Ltd (DLF.BO: Quote, Profile, Research), which was added to the benchmark index
from Monday, rose 1.2 percent to 947.85 rupees. The company
also said it sold 49 percent equity in seven projects to a
Merrill Lynch firm (MER.N: Quote, Profile, Research) for $377 million.
* Refiner Essar Oil (ESRO.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) added 6.2 percent to 204.35
rupees after it said it would spend about $6 billion to expand
its refining capacity. It also shelved a plan to delist from

* Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) (TTML.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) gained 16.3
percent to 50.70 rupees after a series of block deals in its
shares above 50 rupees.
* Plethico Pharmaceuticals Ltd (PLPH.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) rose 5.4 percent
to 491.30 rupees after it signed a definitive deal to acquire
U.S.-based branded nutritional products maker Natrol Inc
